This short is gorgeous, but sometimes too staged.
You can film real teardrops on soldiers.

A Billion Years in a Couple Minutes
November 13 2011

It'll be a while Before this Kind of Thing Happens Again
November 11, 2011

Did anything happen?
111111 11/11/11? Anyone?
Likely because our calendar originated at an arbitrary time by humans.
These numbers were bound to arrive, if we kept the useful though somewhat arbitrary calendar.
I still like.
(I made the phrase/image above as close as I could to the golden ratio. Numbers can be fun.)

Time Lapse of San Francisco
September 21, 2011

Good short vid of a city I like.
I went to live there a too-short 4 years. And...
I have been to all but a couple places in the film multiple times.
I was still lucky.

Windows 8 dual-boot with 7 on the IBM x60 tablet
September 14, 2011

Tonight I installed the Windows 8 Developer Preview on the beloved x60. Get 'em, Windows.
That's 3 generations of touchscreen OSs from MS on this machine alone (I skipped Vista),
though I still use a physical keyboard and mouse (or TrackPoint) for most everything on a computer.
Still very nice to flip this thing over and have the Darth Vader iPad.
Boot time is less than 10 seconds on this 4 year-old machine,
and swipes work on the Wacom touchscreen.

The kilometer-length page is on vacation!
July 12, 2011

The links up top still mostly work, and those accessing previous docs can still get to them.

We'll be back not neccesarily soon.

Let's give the American production and management
we used to do back to the engineers and technicians
and away from some of the accountants and finance fukks
.

Kilometer page is here.
Enjoy your summer.
